Help
How trading works here, for brands clearing stock and resellers buying it. The timers and rules on this page are the ones the app enforces.

1.Accounts and roles
Can one account both sell and buy?
No. One account is one business with one role: Brand, if you list stock, or Reseller, if you buy it. You pick the role at sign-up and it cannot be switched later, so choose the side you trade on most.
How do I sign in?
Log in with Google or with your email and password. Brands land on the seller dashboard and resellers on buyer home. If you forgot your password, ask for a reset link. You see the same confirmation whether or not the address has an account.
Why do I need to verify my email?
Onboarding, offers and reservations need a verified email. After an email sign-up we send a link; the Check your inbox screen lets you resend it once every 60 seconds and moves you on to onboarding as soon as the link is opened.
2.Listing a lot
What stock can I list?
Apparel and Home goods: RTO parcels, customer returns, excess or deadstock, and seconds. You must own the stock and have the right to sell it.
Counterfeit or replica goods, used innerwear and socks are not allowed. The full list is in the marketplace policy.
What are the steps to list a lot?
The lot wizard has seven steps. A draft saves on every change, so you can close the tab and come back.
- Basics: title, category, description and stock source
- Units & sizes: a size × colour matrix, or a manifest upload
- Condition grading: units per grade, with defect notes
- Photos: 6 to 12, with a cover photo
- Pricing & terms: MRP, asking ₹/unit, floor price, minimum order, GST and shipping
- Visibility: brand display, who sees the price, resale conditions and listing duration
- Review & publish: a buyer-view preview and the automated checks
Can I upload my manifest instead of typing every size?
Yes. Download the template in step 2, fill one row per size and colour with the quantity, and upload it as CSV or XLSX. Valid rows fill the matrix. Rows with problems are listed by number, for example “Row 4: quantity must be 0 or more”, so you can fix just those.
How many photos do I need?
Between 6 and 12, with at least 2 for every grade in the lot. Shoot a flat lay, a stack, the cartons, labels and size tags, and close-ups of any defects. If you hide your brand name, hide the brand labels in the photos too.
When does my lot go live?
The moment every automated check passes. There is no manual review wait. Publishing needs:
- all required fields filled
- at least 6 photos, and at least 2 for every grade present
- grade units = total units = the sum of the size × colour quantities
- asking price at or below the highest MRP, and floor price at or below the asking price
- minimum order at or below total units
- the declaration that there are no prohibited items and you have the right to sell the stock
Each failed check links back to the step that fixes it.
Can I edit a lot that is already live?
Photos and description stay editable. While offers are open, the price can only go down. Quantities and grades are locked while offers are open or units are reserved; at other times quantities can only be lowered.
What happens when the listing period ends?
You choose 15, 30 or 60 days. When the period ends the lot becomes Expired and you get a notification with a Relist link. Relisting runs the publish checks again. From My lots you can also extend several live lots by 15 days at once.
3.Price, floor price and brand privacy
Fixed price, offers or both?
With Fixed, resellers reserve units at your asking ₹/unit. With Accept offers, they send bulk offers and you negotiate. Both shows a Reserve button beside Make an offer.
What is a floor price?
A hidden lowest ₹/unit you will take. Any offer or counter below it is declined instantly with “This is below what the seller can accept”. The floor is never shown to buyers on any page, message or error. An offer exactly at the floor goes through to you as Pending.
Can I hide my brand name?
Yes, per lot. Choose one:
- Visible to everyone
- Hidden until the buyer is verified
- Hidden until you accept that buyer's offer
A hidden name is left out of the lot page, the WhatsApp share image and search results. Buyers see “Verified D2C brand” with your city instead.
Can I show the price to verified resellers only?
Yes. Everyone else sees “Sign in as a verified reseller to see price”, and the price is left out of the page, the share image and search, not just covered up.
What resale conditions can I set?
- No listing on Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra or Meesho
- Offline or in-store only
- Don't use the brand name in resale listings
- Remove labels before resale
- No export
Resellers must tick that they accept your conditions before they can send an offer.
Who pays shipping?
You set it on each lot: buyer pays freight, seller pays, or ex-warehouse pickup. Buyers see the terms, your godown city and your dispatch days before they offer.
4.Finding lots and making offers
Do resellers pay Backstock Bazaar anything?
No. Browsing, offers and buying are free. You pay the brand for the stock, plus GST when the brand invoices it, plus freight when the lot's terms say the buyer pays.
How do I find lots that suit my shop?
Browse lots and filter by category, grade, sizes, ₹/unit, % below MRP, lot size, seller state, dispatch days and whether partial orders are allowed. Filters stay in the page address, so you can bookmark a search or send it on WhatsApp. Sign in to save a search and get alerts.
What do grades A to D mean?
- A, New or deadstock: unused, tags on, original packaging.
- B, Open box: unused, tags on, packaging opened or damaged.
- C, Customer return: tried or handled, may miss tags or have minor fixable issues.
- D, Salvage: visible defects; for repair, parts or rag.
The grading standard has the full checklists and what counts as a defect.
Can I buy only some sizes?
Yes, when the brand allows partial orders. Choose Pick sizes and enter a quantity per size and colour, up to what is available and at least the lot's minimum order. A partial order gets a proportional grade mix, within ±10%.
How do I make an offer?
- Press Make an offer on the lot page.
- Choose Full lot or Pick sizes.
- Enter your ₹/unit. The form shows % of ask, subtotal, GST estimate and landed cost per unit.
- Add a note if you like, up to 300 characters.
- Tick that you accept the resale conditions, then submit.
You can have one open offer per lot. A second one is refused with a link to the first.
Why can't I see the price on some lots?
The brand chose to show it to verified resellers only. Get the Verified badge (see section 9) and the price, the masked brand name and the manifest download open up.
5.Counters and reservations
How long does each side have to reply?
48 hours per turn. Every counter resets the clock for the other side. Each side can counter up to 3 times; after that only Accept and Decline remain. If the clock runs out, the offer becomes Expired and both sides are told.
Can I share my phone number in the chat?
Not before a reservation. Phone numbers, email addresses and UPI IDs are removed from messages with the note “Contact details unlock after reservation”. Once units are reserved, both sides' contacts appear on the order page.
What does Reserve at list price do?
On fixed-price lots you can skip negotiating. Confirm the quantities and the units are reserved for you at the list price straight away, and you land on the new order.
What if someone else reserves the last units first?
Only one reservation can win the last units. Other open offers on that lot become Expired, their buyers are notified, and the lot is added to their watchlist. If the winning reservation later expires or is cancelled, the units return and the lot is Live again.
6.Order steps, payment and dispatch
- 1Reserved48h
Reseller: Units are held. Pay the brand by UPI or NEFT and upload the UTR before the clock runs out.
- 2Payment submitted24h
Brand: The reservation clock stops. Check your bank and press Confirm received or Not received yet.
- 3PaidLot's dispatch days
Brand: Pack and send the cartons. Add the transporter, LR/AWB number and carton count.
- 4Dispatched10 days
Reseller: Press Mark received when the cartons arrive. After 10 days the order is marked Delivered anyway.
- 5Delivered72h
Reseller: Open the cartons and check them. Press Everything matches, or report an issue.
- 6CompletedDone
Both: Sold units are counted, commission is recorded for the brand, and both sides can leave a review.
A branch from Delivered. The brand has 48h to offer a refund or decline. The order completes once the issue is Resolved or Unresolved.
How do I pay the brand?
There is no payment gateway. After a reservation, the order page shows the brand's UPI ID or bank details and the exact amount including GST.
- Pay that amount by UPI or NEFT, with the order code as the reference.
- Open I've paid on the order page and enter the UTR. Add a screenshot of the payment.
- Submit. The order moves to Payment submitted and the 48-hour clock stops.
What if the brand says the money hasn't arrived?
The brand presses Not received yet and adds a note. The order goes back to Reserved and you see the note. Check the UTR with your bank and resubmit.
What happens if I don't pay within 48 hours?
The reservation expires, the units go back on sale and both sides are told. Expired reservations lower your reservation completion rate, which brands can see.
What does a brand need to dispatch?
Transporter or courier, LR/AWB number and carton count are required. Add a tracking link, photos of the sealed cartons and the GST invoice PDF if you issue one. Dispatch within the dispatch days on the lot.
Which documents come with an order?
A proforma PDF is made automatically. The GST invoice, payment proof, dispatch photos, issue evidence and refund proof are added as the order moves. Only the order's buyer and seller can open them.
7.Grading and issues
When can I raise an issue?
Within 72 hours of pressing Mark received. After that the order completes and issues are closed. You can report:
- grade mismatch
- quantity short
- wrong items
- damaged in transit
- not received
A grade mismatch counts when more than 10% of units are below the grade the brand declared.
How does a refund work?
- You give the affected units, photo or video evidence, and ask for a full refund or a partial amount.
- The brand has 48 hours to offer a full refund, offer a partial refund, or decline with an explanation.
- You accept or reject the response.
- An accepted refund is paid offline by the brand, who uploads the refund UTR. The issue is then Resolved.
What if we can't agree?
If you reject the brand's response, or the brand does not respond within 48 hours, the issue becomes Unresolved. It counts against the brand's scores, both sides are shown our support address, and the order completes.
How is grade accuracy worked out?
Completed orders that did not end in a grade-mismatch refund or an unresolved grade issue, divided by all completed orders. It shows on the seller card after 3 completed orders.
8.Commission and statements
What does a brand pay?
Listing is free and there is no monthly fee. On each Completed order you pay 5% commission on the order subtotal before GST, plus 18% GST on that commission. The rate is fixed on the order when units are reserved, so a later change does not touch it. Resellers pay no commission.
How do I pay commission?
On the 1st of each month at 06:00 IST you get one statement for the previous month's completed orders, with a PDF and a CSV. Pay the amount due and submit the UTR on the statement. No completed orders means no statement.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| 420 units × ₹189 | ₹79,380 |
| Commission 5% | −₹3,969 |
| GST on commission 18% | −₹714 |
| Brand keeps | ₹74,697 |
Subtotal excludes the GST the reseller pays you on the stock. Figures rounded to the rupee.
9.Verified badge and seller scores
How do I get the Verified badge?
All three must hold. The badge tooltip lists them:
Email verified · GSTIN checked · Profile complete
GSTIN is checked for format and checksum. If any of the three stops holding, for example you remove your GSTIN, the badge is removed.
What does the badge open for resellers?
Lots priced for verified resellers only, brand names hidden until the buyer is verified, and the manifest download on lot pages.
What do seller scores show?
Orders completed and average response time from the start. Grade accuracy and issues resolved % appear after 3 completed orders, so one bad order cannot define a new seller.
10.Saved searches and alerts
How do saved-search alerts work?
- Instant: an in-app notification and an email when a new matching lot goes live.
- Daily: one email at 08:00 IST listing new matches, and nothing on days without any.
- Off: the search stays saved, with no alerts.
11.Reporting a lot and contacting us
How do I report a lot?
Use the small Report this lot link at the bottom of the lot page. Pick a reason (counterfeit or replica, prohibited item, misleading photos or grades, or other) and add a note. The report goes to our team by email with a link to the lot.
A problem with an order?
Raise it on the order page within the inspection window, as described in section 7. That keeps the evidence, the timers and the brand's response in one place.
How do I contact Backstock Bazaar?
For an order, use the order page. For a listing, use Report this lot. Both reach our team with the order or lot attached.
